Preceding the film there will be a reception at 6:30PM with Chuck Workman and attending filmmakers and the Career Achievement Award presentation to Chuck Workman.
During the Democratic Presidential nomination campaign many of Barack Obama's supporters compared the candidate's charismatic presence and commanding rhetorical skills to that of President John F. Kennedy. While there have been more documentaries and movies made about JFK than any other President, Director Chuck Workman keeps the subject fresh by dividing the film into five segments, 'The Myth', 'The President', 'The Present', 'The World', and 'The Legacy'. Although a documentary, the film also delves into political science fiction when it uses fake news programs to report on a world in which Kennedy survives the assassination. One of the most provoking segments illustrates how much foreign nations and leaders respected and admired Kennedy. In addition to Bill Clinton, Alec Baldwin and Chris Matthews, Workman has acquired contributions from James Carville, Al Franken, Senator Tom Hayden, Tim Shriver, Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, Arianna Huffington, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Garrison Keillor, Congressman Dennis Kucinich and Norman Mailer. As we approach another Presidential election, we have to wonder whether the magic of Camelot is still possible or is it gone forever? Please note: Online ticket sales end 24 hours before each event. Tickets may still be available for purchase at the venue. |
