This unique film is a story of war, peace and surfing. Set on the West African coast of Liberia, four young surfers travel in search of the perfect wave. With the recent war shadowing the landscape, the group must face the everyday realities of life in a war-torn world. The search for waves becomes a quest for understanding. Juxtaposing the war-torn urban landscapes with images of a tropical paradise, the film records the stories of people they meet along the way - people like Alfred, a young boy who became Liberia's first surfer after finding a body board while fleeing from rebels. Besides rediscovering a world-class pointbreak that could be the best-kept secret in the surfing world, the surfers find something much more important – a way to travel responsibly in the 21st century. Cinema of Conscience
In 2007, forty years after the summer of love, three young people fresh out of college, moved to San Francisco to find the spirit of the sixties. At a time when the youth of this country had grown increasingly complacent and, at times, indifferent, these three tried to break through that mentality and bring back that sense of peace, love, and activism that was exceedingly widespread in the 1960's.Along their journey they meet characters from the sixties who open their eyes to inescapable parallels of common wars and common struggles. You'll journey with them as they take you down a hilarious and emotional roller coaster.
