Takes Two to Tango --
Music and dancing is more than a career, hobby or fun night out in some cultures. In Argentina, Tango is a way of life. Cafe de Los Maestros is a music documentary about the country's internationally famous Tango players by award-winning composer Gustavo Santaollala (Brokeback Mountain). Through interviews and archival footage, the film introduces legendary Tango players and their contributions to tango music history, and includes a 2006 reunion performance at the Colon Theater in Buenos Aires, featuring the Maestros from the 1940's and 1950's, which are considered the golden days of Tango. Amazingly, these proud and grand old men and women seem to get even better with age. If you have ever experienced the passion and spirit of the Tango, Café de los Meastros will have you gliding across the dance floor for an abrazo or enganche. Please note: Online ticket sales end 24 hours before each event. Tickets may still be available for purchase at the venue. |
